Good ol’ days, I did weddings for many years, for different agencies reps as well. All I needed for Sony pd150 later Dvx200, on sennheiser g2, one shot gun mic on top of the camera. One Omni and another optional Lowell tota light 😅 all in one bag. Better yet Lowell light on top of the camera at the reception, one dynamic mic needed to interview guests. Since invention of DSLR I wonder how’s the game going now?

For Sony ahooters, don't sleep on this old one . I sold it for new mics and bought it back because this one has the best stereo audio for me. Sony ECM-XYST1M

With the tascam Pro would you not be able to pic up the brides voice too in the ceremony if you only had 1 tascam on the Groom, as its 32bit float

I prefer use dji mic2 as backup to mic reception, 32bit float . Nice gear Matt.

I just shot my first wedding, and I was so, SO thankful to have multiple audio sources - I was originally told that the DJ would mic the bride and groom, so they didn't want to be mic'd by me. Turns out, NEITHER of them were mic'd!!! Only the officiant was. I put a TX660 in the groom's pocket, and that's the audio of the vows that turned out. The soundboard was only good for the officiant and their music.

I bought the cable kit. I had all the cables but I’ve given some away to just starting out videographers. And some I’ll keep as back up.

In addition to my reaction, is is for Slog3, middle gray 41%, Skintones 48-52% and 90% reflectie White Card 61%. This in normal mode. You do ETTR with +1.7 - 2 stops and pull up and down the levels in Post, to get more values in shadows. Many are not happy with ETTR anymore. It was primarly ment for RAW, bit is suitable as well for Log Gamma. With my Canon C70 with DGO sensor it is not my choice, there is less noise to bother really.

Very good explination in how to film properly in SLog3 with Sony Camera's. I useally film with Blackmagic 4 K (BRaw and Prores) and have the fantastic Canon C70 with Raw and CLog2 and 3. Never have issue's with filming in Clog2 (16+ stops) in Raw or Log Gamma with both camera's. I bought recently the Sony PXW-Z90, this is an older Camcorder with 1 inch sensor, but you can still buy it. I use him for Run and Gun. It supports Slog3 in 3 SGamut versions and HLG as well. I see that Slog3 looks a litte complexer to work with. First you have to chose the correct WB option, under Color Settings. With the other 2 camera's, WB can be set seperately. Further I have to find out what the base ISO form the Z90 is. I read 0dB or ISO 250. I'm not sure about these and Sony is not always clear in these kind of settings information. But your explination is a good tutorial in how to expose in Log gamma in general, so it is valid for every Cinema camera filming in Log Gamma. The only thing I miss to make it complete, is the exposure settings on the IRE scale for neutral exposure 18% gray. For Slog3 it is approx 41% to my information. Thanks Harold

Most of time I try ti match color on screen with this what I see, and all of time I make shit decisions... 😁😁😁😁. Probably screen on camera not best set up.

According to Sony Hong Kong technical support department when the a7c2 connects to the ecm-g1 microphone, it can only use analog input. If you use a7c2 with other higher-end microphones, you can use digital input or analog input. So when g1 connect to a7c2, there is no fully automatic audio leveling function. However, on other Sony camera models such as the a74, the camera can continue to use digital input and use the fully automatic volume leveling function. Regarding this issue, I sent three emails to Sony's technical support department in Hong Kong, China and Japan. Reflecting my dissatisfaction, why do the same microphone have different reactions in different camera models. I use the a7c2, a relatively entry-level camera, because I hope that using an entry-level microphone, I can adjust the volume completely automatically, without having to spend time manually adjusting the volume.
